▊ 僑生是什麼？ Overseas Chinese Student Eligibility
僑生身分認定，由僑務主管機關為之。以僑生身分申請入學的學生，都需要符合教育部公布最新「僑生回國就學及輔導辦法」規定。如違反辦法，經查證屬實者，將撤銷其入學資格、開除學籍或撤銷其本校畢業資格，且不發給任何學歷證明。
僑生資格認定如下 ：
- 海外出生連續居留至今，或在海外最近連續居留滿 6 年。（若欲申讀醫學系、中醫系及牙醫系，需最近連續居留滿 8 年）
- 取得僑居地之長期或永久居留證明。
* 所稱海外指大陸地區、香港及澳門以外之國家或地區；連續居留，指華裔學生每曆年(1/1~12/31)在國內停留期間未逾120日；取得僑居地永久或長期居留證件，得以取得僑居地公民權、永久居留權或以其所持中華民國護照已加簽僑居身分認定之。
A person’s overseas Chinese student status must be validated by the Overseas Compatriots Affairs Commission (OCAC). Applicants that wish to apply as an overseas Chinese student must meet the requirements stated in the Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Chinese Students in Taiwan. Any applicant or student found to be in violation of the provisions of said regulations will have their admission offer immediately canceled, enrollment revoked, registration as current student canceled, or any degree already awarded rescinded. No certification whatsoever regarding their related academic undertakings will be issued.
Requirements for Applying as an Overseas Chinese Student:
- Was born and remain outside Taiwan up to the date of application; or remain outside Taiwan for the last 6 consecutive years (It is 8 years for Medical, Dental and Chinese Medicine Departments).
- Holding a permanent/ long-term residence certificate of your current resident nation.
* The term "overseas” refers to countries or regions other than Taiwan, mainland China, Macao, and Hong Kong. The consecutive years of overseas residency mean calendar years in each of which an overseas Chinese student has not spent more than 120 days in Taiwan. Documentary evidence of having obtained permanent or long-term residency status overseas may include proof of having citizenship or permanent residency in the applicant’s country of residence or having a Republic of China passport which officially records the person’s overseas Chinese status.
▊ 港澳生是什麼？ Hong Kong and Macao Student Status Regulations
以港澳生身分申請入學的學生，都需要符合教育部公布最新「香港澳門居民來臺就學辦法」規定。如違反辦法，經查證屬實者，將撤銷其入學資格、開除學籍或撤銷其本校畢業資格，且不發給任何學歷證明。
港澳生身分資格認定如下：
- 香港或澳門居民，取得港澳永久居留資格證件。
- 最近連續居留境外6年以上者。（欲申請大學醫學、牙醫及中醫學系者，須連續居留8年以上）
* 所稱境外，指臺灣地區以外之國家或地區。港澳居民連續居留境外期間，其每曆年在臺灣地區停留期間不得逾一百二十日。
Applicants that wish to apply as a Hong Kong or Macau student must meet the requirements stated in the Regulations for Hong Kong and Macao Residents Studying in Taiwan (Chinese version only). Any applicant or student found to be in violation of the provisions of said regulations will have their admission offer immediately canceled, enrollment revoked, registration as current student canceled, or any degree already awarded rescinded. No certification whatsoever regarding their related academic undertakings will be issued.
Requirements for Applying as a Hong Kong or Macao Student:
Applicants that wish to apply as a Hong Kong or Macau student must meet all of the following criteria:
- is a resident of Hong Kong or Macau, and have obtained permanent residence permits for Hong Kong and Macau
- have resided in Hong Kong, Macau or offshore continuously for more than 6 years (8 years for applicants that wish to apply to a department of medicine, dentistry or Chinese medicine).
* The term "overseas” refers to countries or regions other than Taiwan. The consecutive years of overseas residency mean calendar years in each of which a Hong Kong or Macau student has not spent more than 120 days in Taiwan.
