The President of Yuan Ze University and the Global Affairs Office prepared gifts for Mid-Autumn Festival for overseas students, including pomelo and mooncakes. Prof. Chih-Yang Lin, Chief of Global Affairs Office, said that culturally, pomelo has the homophonic sound of “youzi”, which means good luck; while mooncakes are made in a round shape that can be shared by the family, symbolizing reunion and harmony. Foreign students would not feel lonely and also experience the warmth of the Mid-Autumn Festival by these gifts.

The Talent Circulation Alliance(TCA) Program, as part of the Digital and Special Talent Development Project under the “Forward-Looking Infrastructure＂implemented by Executive Yuan, aims to promote talent circulation internationally, to cultivate digital talent for industry in Taiwan, and to urge connection between talent and the industry. Lunar New Year approaching, due to the raising of the pandemic situation overseas students are not able to return to their hometown to reunite with families. The Global Affairs Office had prepared a New Year Gift-bag for each student so that they can feel the warmth of Yuan Ze’s big family.

2021-01-29 The 2021 YZU Smart Living x IoT Online Workshop has come to the end on the 21st of January. In this 11-day event, students have joined the lectures regarding topics such as IoT, Big Data, AI, etc. On top of that, Mandarin and Culture classes were also available for students to discover the beauty of Taiwan.With over 50 participants from 8 countries, students have worked together and carried out 11 projects to explore the world of IoT. Through the help from the TAs in YZU, students had the chance to make friends with people over the world, as well as knowing more about Yuan Ze University.In these difficult times, we would like to thank you to join us in the online workshop. Let’s stay connected, and stay curious!
